The Foxwood Garden Club meetings will be held the 4th Wednesday of each month between May and September at 7:00 pm in the Foxwood office.

The Garden Conservancy

The open days seasonal program allows visitors to visit local private gardens, beautiful estate gardens and sweeping landscapes. Untermyer Gardens Conservancy, 945 North Broadway, Yonkers, NY

Parks, Nature Preserves, Hiking Trails

Cranberry Lake Preserve, 1609 Old Orchard Street, North White Plains, NY

This 190-acre park includes a Nature Center, which offers programs and educational displays. Pick up a trail map and hike on the History Trail, which contains remnants of a farmhouse and stone mining operations. Trek through a variety of habitats including a 4-acre lake, cliffs, hardwood forest, vernal pools, and a swamp.

 

Croton Gorge Park, Route 129, Cortlandt, NY

This 97-acre property at the base of the Croton Dam allows for fishing, picnicking, hiking and awesome views of Croton Dam and the spillway. To access the top of the dam, park in the parking lot and take a foot path up the side of the dam.

 

Croton Landing Park, Cortlandt, NY

This park stretches a mile along the Hudson River, allowing for a delightful, peaceful walk along the waterfront. The paved walking pathway extends along the river and is a delight to walk at the golden hour and for views of sunsets.

 

Croton Point Park, 1A Croton Point Avenue, Croton-on-Hudson, NY

This 508-acre park is situated on a peninsula on the east shore of the Hudson River. Offered are year-round events and activities with facilities for camping, hiking and swimming.

 

Lasdon Park and Arboretum, 2610 Route 35, Katonah, NY

Marshland Conservancy, 220 Boston Post Road, Rye, NY

This 147 acre wildlife conservancy includes a Nature Center, which offers birding and animal programs, and 3 miles of hiking trails. It’s comprised of several distinct natural areas: forest, meadow, tidal salt marsh, marine shoreline and ponds.

 

Rockefeller State Park Preserve, 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, NY

The property includes the former Pocantico Hills and Rockwood Hall country estates of John D. Rockefeller and William Rockefeller. Tarrytown River Walk, Tarrytown, NY
This 2.1 mile out and back easy scenic walk along the Hudson River allows for beautiful views of the Hudson River, Tarrytown lighthouse, Mario Cuomo Bridge and NYC skyline. A popular trail for walking and running, the trail starts at Pierson Park in Tarrytown and extends to Kingsland Point Park.

 

Teatown Lake Reservation , 1600 Spring Valley Rd, Ossining, NY

Kayak Hudson
